RSC: Matilda (Stratford, 2010).
TRAINED: University of WA and the Conservatorium of WA.
COMEDY: Tim has performed solo shows all over the place, from the Sydney Opera House to the Royal Albert Hall and the New York Town Hall. Recently he has taken to touring with a symphony orchestra.
COMPOSITION: Tim once wrote a musical called Pop – a Tragically Musical Romantic Black Comedy. As a young chap he also wrote loads of scores for theatre and a few for documentary and film.
ACTING: When he was an actor in Perth, Tim played Hamlet and Amadeus and a few other bits and bobs. He was recently in a film called Two Fists, One Heart.
ALBUMS AND MUSIC: His long-dead band, Timmy the Dog, recorded an album called Sit, which is pleasingly hard to find. He has released four live albums of his comedy shows. He has been a musical director for many cabaret acts, and played keyboards and sung in countless bands.
DVDS: Tim Minchin and the Heritage Orchestra, Live at the Royal Albert Hall is the latest of Tim’s DVDs. He has also made one called So F*****g Rock and one called Ready For This?
TELEVISION: Sometimes Tim is on your telly, most recently as host of the BBC’s Comedy Prom. He has also appeared on Friday Night with Jonathan Ross and Never Mind the Buzzcocks (among others), and So F*****g Rock has aired on E4 a few times.
