The London cast of the Royal Shakespeare Company’s multi-award-winning production of Matilda The Musical are thrilled to be collaborating with Jamie Oliver’s School Food Awards 2025. Now in its third successful year, Jamie’s Good School Food Awards continue to grow in popularity, celebrating the amazing unsung heroes who, day in and day out, go the extra mile to make sure Britain’s school children are well nourished.
Executive producers of Matilda The Musical, Denise Wood and Griselda Yorke said: “We are delighted to be involved with Jamie Oliver’s Good School Food Awards this year. Matilda The Musical is all about empowering young people, celebrating curiosity and kindness, and standing up for what’s right – values that align perfectly with the mission of these awards. Good food fuels bright minds, and we couldn’t be more excited about playing a part in championing the importance of healthy school meals.”
A panel of 25 expert judges and a youth panel made up of primary and secondary students will shortlist the awards and a stellar line up of celebrity judges will have the final say. The London cast of Matilda The Musical will be judging the Food Kindness Hero award. This award celebrates a person who is using food as a power for good. This could be cooking and delivering food to those in need, setting up community cafés at school, providing mealtime opportunities with older generations or running local community fridges.
