Sydney’s Matilda The Musical Given Special Achievement Award

Today, the Sydney Theatre Awards announced that they will be awarding the four young girls who play Matilda in the Sydney production of Matilda The Musical with a Special Achievement Award.

Since opening in August, our four Sydney Matildas have been wowing audiences and today receive recognition for their talents. The award will be presented to Molly Barwick, Sasha Rose, Georgia Taplin and Bella Thomas at the Sydney Theatre Awards 2015 on Monday January 18 2016.

Alongside this announcement, the Sydney Theatre Awards released their full list of nominations, on which Matilda The Musical makes several appearances. We have been nominated for:

• Best Production of a Mainstream Musical
• Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in a Musical (Marika Aubrey & Elise McCann)
• Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in a Musical (Daniel Frederikson & James Millar)
