WORK INCLUDES: Jeanie is Chair of Playwriting at Yale School of Drama. Originally trained as a sculptor her first job in theatre was at the Royal Court, where she pulled Simon Stephens and Debbie Tucker Green (amongst others) out of the unsolicited pile. Ten years later she took over the RSC’s literary department. She commissioned and developed nearly 40 new plays, including the first new play ever to be produced on the main stage. She re-established the experimental RSC Studio. In 2006 Jeanie commissioned Dennis Kelly to write the book of Matilda and in 2008 she whispered the name Tim Minchin into the (strechy) ear of Matthew Warchus. Then the music began…
